I too would conclude that the whole thing is B.S. Fighting off a religious perversion that is stupid, garish and ungodly just doesn't move any reasonable conversation an inch ahead or enlighten any discussion. Instead it just provides something to ridicule that is decades out of date. If anyone ridiculed atheism like that, we would never hear the end of it. But you just never see that sort of nastiness here--Never!

It is a diatribe that writes off a religious notion that thinking people have long since written off. The fact that there are many non-thinking religionists remains a terrible problem. But this forum, I assumed, maintains some level of thoughtful dialogue.

Why this shows up on "religion"--given the borders of the forum--and not on Atheism/Agnosticism is a mystery. People allow almost anything here because we have that reputation--but not a reputation for careful debate.
