But it seems religious environments provide plenty of opportunities for predators, and worse - have actively protected and covered up for criminals.
I don't think it's an issue about a religious cause of child abuse (Dawkins aside ) It's how these organizations see covering it up and protecting the perpetrators is more important than the children.
As we learned in Watergate, it's not the crime....
For me any organization that routinely covers up such crimes is a criminal enterprise and should be treated as so, whether it's a day camp, a Jewish school or the Vatican.
