Hunters asked to be alert of suspicious activity in woods

As thousands of hunters prepare to head to Wisconsin for the opening of gun-deer season, law enforcement has a warning about the possibility of meth labs in the woods.

“It can happen anywhere,” said Lt. Dave Remiker of the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department.

After seeing pictures from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office of large, make-shift meth-labs found by bow hunters, Lt. Remiker says the same thing could be found in the woods in Northeast Wisconsin.

“I don’t think we’re immune to this possibility,” said Lt. Remiker, “so I think it’s good that everybody understands what this stuff is about, and how to approach it.”

Depending on how many sites are found, expect Black Friday sales on meth. next week.
