1. Nice, I see it's a series wound brush motor, much like an auto starter motor but bigger..

You might enjoy this, shows what can be done on a low budget with sufficient shade tree engineering..

5. Series wound is great for drag racing I bet...

I use a Series wound motor in my VW Bug. Great torque, never use lower than second gear.

8. Amazingly fast.

I have a mid 8 second car, so I have a understanding how fast that really is. 6.90's incredible.
