Deception IV Review (PS3 and Vita)

Mousetrap + Murder = Fun!

Story: You play the daughter of the devil, and in order to summon your father and bring hell on earth you must collect the 12 verses, or whatever. The story is pretty thin.

Graphics: Below par for PS3. The character you play, and your three demon friends are typical anime women. The environments are bland to look at, for the most part, but the environments have a lot going on gameplay wise.

Gameplay: This is the best part of the game. An enemy or three will come into your lair (castle, factory, etc.) and try to kill you. You pause the game by pressing circle, and set down a series of traps. The traps are designed to link together so you can make your enemies go from one trap to another to rack up huge points and damage. Once your traps are set, you try to avoid enemy attacks while luring them into your own little death machine.

Unlockables/upgrades:
Lots of traps
New special abilities
New costumes
100 missions after beating game
Able to create and share missions online

Strengths
Fun as fuck.
Very smooth.
The numerous traps and the creative environment design allows for an insane number of strategies.
It's kinda funny.

Weaknesses
Plain graphics.
Weak story.

Here is a video of someone using only one type of trap.

playing the first one via emulator. The graphics have aged (a LOT) but the gameplay will be similar. Also, the Dungeon Keeper games for PC are a little similar.
