Looks like a dove though could be a whole lot of other birds, snoozing.

you have those on your coast like we do out west. It looks a little yellowish, which made me think grosbeak, but that is a pretty standard mourning dove in cool mist pose. Pretty bird.

I have them all over around my house, and that is definitely the posture that they take when just resting.

at this time of year, when the feathers on their face actually shine when the light hits them. I agree that they are usually sleek, but they always fluff up like that when they are resting. And they do a lot of resting, at least here.
