Billy Hamilton, Reds run past Tim Lincecum, Giants

Cincinnati --

Reds leadoff man Billy Hamilton might be the fastest man in baseball since the Roadrunner got smuggled into an Acme Co. picnic game as a ringer. Hamilton got on base twice Tuesday night, and he got into Tim Lincecum's head.

One can draw a straight line between that and the Giants' 11th loss in their past 12 games at Great American Ball Park, a homely 8-3 setback that again delayed a march toward consistency that has eluded Lincecum since he re-signed for two years at $35 million.

"It is frustrating because you want to look for something where you put everything together," Lincecum said. "I haven't really been doing that anytime this year. It's been things here and things there. I'm trying to find a way to get to that. Maybe it will be my 13th start."

In his 12th, Lincecum matched his career worst by allowing eight runs with two four-run innings. Hamilton, who has not been a good hitter, began them with a double and single, respectively. He entered with 10 extra-base hits in 171 at-bats and a .290 on-base percentage.
