Aaron Hernandezs trial for an alleged 2012 double murder has been delayed. However, it appears that the former Patriot is wasting little time acclimating himself to prison culture.

While in court for a pre-trial hearing Tuesday, Hernandez wore a white t-shirt which revealed a neck tattoo, one that had been only partially revealed over a collared dress shirt in a May court appearance. The tattoo bore the inscription Lifetime Loyalty over several symbols, the most prominent of which, a five-pointed star, is associated with the Bloods gang.
Hernandez had reportedly been involved as a lookout in a gang-related fight at his prison in May. More recently, he was reportedly moved to a segregation unit after guards found a prison-made knife, often called a shiv or shank, in his cell.

It is so sad that through bad decisions this man destroyed his life. I really wish he could have/would have made better decisions.

(32,047 posts)some historical articles I've read indicate he had a hard time when his dad died (he was in high school at the time I believe). Some folks have said that he joined them at that point and you don't really leave. He can do whatever he wants now in terms of tattoos - at least whatever he is able to get away with behind bars. With the incarceration (and no chance of parole) it is probably more advantageous for him to admit the gang affiliation.
