Peyton Manning will return to Broncos for 2014 season

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Speculation Peyton Manning might hang 'em up after this year started spreading to the point no one knows where it started.

First things first at Super Bowl XLVIII, Manning let it be known he isn't going anywhere.

The Broncos have a guaranteed $20 million salary waiting for Manning next season. The grand plan is to collect that dough while hopefully defending the Super Bowl championship the Broncos can earn by defeating the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

"A number of players have walked away as champions," Manning said at his first Super Bowl press conference here Sunday night.

It would take a major catastrophe for Broncos rookie Zac Dysert to play in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday.

You know it, and he knows it.

But that doesn't mean the 23-year-old quarterback from Miami (Ohio) hasn't enjoyed every moment of his ride to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Sure, he didn't take a snap during the regular season, and even his preseason playing time was sparse — 12-of-23 passing for 179 yards and one touchdown.

But he has sat next to Peyton Manning to watch game film and break down opponents. He has learned from the master. That's not a bad apprenticeship, especially for a guy whose hometown is Ada, Ohio, where the Wilson factory makes all of the NFL's footballs.

So is that your next destination. It is really pretty cool to see them make footballs there. I went to HS with Zac's dad.
