Warren Moon: Canadian Football League not option for Tim Tebow
Hall of Famer Warren Moon said in a radio interview Wednesday that the Canadian Football League is not a viable option for Tim Tebow to prove he can play quarterback, as the former Heisman Trophy winner doesn't throw the ball well enough to play in the league.
"You have to be able to throw the ball up there, if anything. They throw the ball a lot. It's only three downs, so the passing game is much more important up there, and there's a lot more field to cover," Moon said in an interview with KILT-AM in Houston.
The CFL has been mentioned as a possible option for Tebow after quarterbacks like Moon, Doug Flutie and Jeff Garcia played the position in Canada and then went on to play in the NFL.
Moon said the difference between Tebow and him and Flutie is, "We knew how to throw the ball."

2. NOT a Tebow fan, but that poor boy is getting hammered
The depiction of him in the media as incompetent has been kinda brutal and sad ....
Perhaps because it is brutally true and he has earned his place in the limelight ... Notwithstanding his over the top public piety and his desire to use his name to highlight his faith, and the hopes of many fundamentalists that they could bask in the glory of a Jesus-powered sports hero ... ( all of which is unfounded due to his essential and REAL inability to play the position )
Notwithstanding all that; it's gotta hurt to get so completely pilloried in such a public manner ...
As a considerate atheist, I feel sorry for Tim...

3. I agree...I never thought I'd say that I feel sorry for him...
There are so many others in the NFL who stink, too...Sanchez comes to mind...yet he still has a job.

5. The religious displays exacerbate the ridicule ...
had he kept that private he would be simply another college athlete that couldn't make the pros, a la JaMarcus Russel and Brian Bosworth.
He stepped onto the soapbox. His on-field antics went beyond the norm. He put the target on his back.
