+++ NFL Picks / Week 15 +++
PLAYOFF RACE SPECIAL!!!
Boosting to nine games again, all of which have impact of one kind or another on the playoffs. Omitting a meaningless Monday night game. Hope that's okay with everyone. Browns / Redskins courtesy of RagAss. This is the last week to take a bye. All great match-ups this week. Good luck. ------------------------------- Favorite / Spread / Underdog (Home team in CAPS) Green Bay / 3 / CHICAGO ATLANTA / 1.5 / NY Giants ST. http://mule.he.net/~budsport/pub/killer.php (they slipped to #2 behind SF in YPPA differential) Their SOS of opponents faced so far is tougher than Houston, slightly lower than Baltimore, ahead of Indianapolis & tied w/ Pittsburgh. You'll point out, that's because they lost to Atlanta, New England, and Houston. Does this team seem like the same team that will dig itself a huge hole early only to make it look like it was a close game at the end? In the end, schedule doesn't matter but how good a team is and both of those stats above indicate they're pretty damn good. On edit - if you want to see a slightly above average team that's played a weak schedule, look at Atlanta, .391 record of opponents faced thus far. |

10. In the power rankings, they're #2...
|
I see a first round loss at home in their future. I agree about Atlanta...they really were shown for what they are last week.

Chargers.
You take those wins away, and they are a 4-3 team. |

16. Cleveland vs Washington
|
could be trickier than first impressions. On Monday, I figured, what the hell? I'll check out the Kansas City-Cleveland recap. I found out that they were on a 3 game winning streak (admittedly not against the greatest of teams) w/ Richardson and Weeden having solid rookie seasons. A closer inspection reveals that the last game before the 3-game winning streak was the game against Dallas, which they easily could have won. Looking at the schedule Cleveland has 1 big loss @ NY Giants and 2 10-point losses vs Baltimore & Buffalo. They were in almost all their games and the most revealing thing is the scores allowed, 2 scores over 30, 17 points allowed in 2 losses, and scores of 23, 14, 17, and 7 in last 4 games. It is actually the game I'm struggling the most to select mainly because it is in Cleveland. In Landover, I'd comfortably pick Washington. This doesn't even factor the questionable Griffin.
Chicago Atlanta St. Louis Cleveland Denver Indianapolis Buffalo Dallas (wow Pitt is favored here?) San Francisco |
