MORE Good Tennis News!

PARIS (AP) -- Jerzy Janowicz of Poland saved one match point on his way to a 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-2 upset over third-seeded Andy Murray in the third round of the Paris Masters on Thursday.

Murray, the reigning Olympic and U.S. Open champion, served for the match at 5-4 in the second set, but completely lost his composure and the ensuing tiebreaker as the 69th-ranked Janowicz evened the match.

Murray's loss came one day after second-seeded Novak Djokovic exited with a second-round loss to big-serving American Sam Querrey.

With Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal not playing in the tournament, none of the so-called ''Big Four'' are left. Fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych reached the last eight earlier Wednesday, while fourth-seeded David Ferrer of Spain was scheduled to play later.

26. Look at the stats though...

Oh I feel she won't win for various reasons, but at 30 years of age Serena's still the best player out there in the WTA, plus her record against #1 And #2..and come to think of it..the top 5 is phenomenal.

Now that I think about it, I don't think either Vika or Sharapova played in that many more tournaments than Serena did....Gotta check to make sure....IF Serena can stay healthy--and that's a big if due to her age--she should win a few more grand slams in 2013 AND be right there with Vika & Sharapova and charging towards #1 for the final time.

It Shall be an interesting 2013 in the WTA & ATP for sure.

Can't wait !!!!

3. Well that is more good news!

Not sure how much I'll be able to watch next week - will have to try to DVR it if Roger is playing decent. Ferrer really has been outstanding this year. And he has played many tournaments ... can't say the same about Djoker.

5. Same here...won't watch if Roger is bombing...

He seems like he just wants the season to end...my prediction is the winner will be someone other than Djoker, Roger or Andy...maybe David.

10. He's a Serb, supposedly Djoker's best friend...

He's been very inconsistent all throughout his career...he could be a lot higher, IMHO, if he got his act together.

11. Needs to take some lessons from Ferrer -

that guy may be shorter than the rest of them but he's super focused. I took a personality quiz on facebook to see which top player I lined up with and despite being a huge Federer fan the one I lined up with is Ferrer. Apparently he's quiet and spends a lot of time reading when he's not playing tennis.

BARCLAYS ATP WORLD TOUR FINALS 2012
Federer Walks Down Memory Lane
London, England

by ATP Staff ~ 06.11.2012

After establishing a new record with his 40th match win at the season-ending championships, defending champion Roger Federer remembered highlights from his 10 previous appearances on Tuesday at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Federer, who made his debut in 2002 with a straight-sets win over Juan Carlos Ferrero in Shanghai, shared: “I remember being extremely excited having qualified because I was somewhat close in 2001. So when I did qualify, and I played Juan Carlos, who was sort of my age, I was very excited. I played a great match, solid from both sides. I was just a bit better. And then I played well throughout.

“That was a big moment for me ...

20. David-Roger result...

Roger won 6-4, 7-6...didn't see it, sounds close, but I don't think David has ever beaten Roger...his game doesn't match up well against Roger's apparently.

21. Juan Martin beat Janko...

I assume Janko is out...Juan Martin plays Roger and David plays Janko, so 3 players could end up with 2-1 records, although Roger apparently is already in the semis...maybe because his two wins were in straight sets.

He plays Tsonga, although if he loses, they both only have one win...along with Tomas, although Andy beat Tomas...

25. SPOILER.....

.......Great match, but Roger made some goofs at key moments.

Could have gone either way. Congrats to Djoker, now two months off 'til Australia.

On a related note, I wish Cliff Drysdale would retire. He's a useless mammal.
