Dan Marino's 1984 passing record is an awesome feat

because it was set before the league installed rules that favor the passing game. Even with changes it took 27 years to beat.

Drew Brees? I was in awe watching the guy last night. He plays the QB position so well.

I would have loved to see Marino's record stay forever, but records are sometimes meant to be broken.

Imagine if Marino was able to pass with the rules today. Can you say 7000 yards????

because anytime you beat a record as old as that, it's great.

But this season has to be the worse season for Defensive football that I've ever seen.

so regardless of the defense, he would have gotten it sometime.

perhaps because of injuries on both sides of the ball. Offenses can't control the clock, putting greater burdens on defenses (last night's game excepted)

Major QB injuries / multiple games:

Indianapolis -- Manning / Ponder
Houston -- Schaub / Leinhart
Oakland -- Campbell
Chicago -- Cutler
Arizona -- Kolb
Kansas City -- Cassel
St.Louis -- Bradford

Quite a list. Who else?
