Rumour has it that Clemens might be in the Bigs in Sept. Wonder if Nolan and W will take

a chance on him?

08:15 AM ET 08.21 | Is there more to Roger Clemens' comeback story than the Sugar Land Skeeters? Mike Elias, the Houston Astros' amateur scouting director, watched Clemens throw Monday before the right-hander signed with the Texas-based Skeeters, who play in the independent Atlantic League. "He is in condition to pitch and pitch successfully," said former Astros club president Tal Smith, who is now a consultant and special adviser to the Sugar Land ownership and witnessed Clemens' bullpen session Monday. ... Clemens, 50, will start for the Skeeters on Saturday and supposedly plans to take his comeback on a game-to-game basis. But both Clemens and the Astros could be motivated for the legendary pitcher to return to Houston after the rosters expand in September.

Why would he return with Houston when he could go to a playoff team in Texas??

Houston has nothing better to do than let Clemens pitch a game and push his HOF vote back 5 years.

He'll be on the ballot and doesn't want to get dismissed as a steroid guy. If he pitches 1 game for Houston this year, the HOF voters will have to wait another 5 years to forget about the steroids situation before they get to vote on him (since his last season would be 2012). He's hoping given enough time, the HOF voters will forgive (or forget). He knows that if they have the vote next year, he has no chance to get in.

Save the roster spot for AAA players. Playing Clemens does not make sense.

I would guess that would be a good reason if you are the worst team in baseball
