Tim Tebow finishes third in fans' Pro Bowl voting

With the fan voting for the Pro Bowl having closed, Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow finished third place among AFC quarterbacks with 632,912 votes, well behind Tom Brady's 1,454,311 votes. Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger finished second in the voting.

"I think he deserves it," offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said after practice today. "He's done a nice job since he stepped in. But when a quarterback gets an honor like that, you also have to look at the players around him. The 10 other players on the field every down with him, they deserve a lot of credit for his success."

Typically three quarterbacks are selected from each conference for the Pro Bowl. Coaches and players are voting this week. The Broncos coaches voted Tuesday and the players were scheduled to vote today.

The Pro Bowl teams are chosen with the combined votes of the fans, coaches and players. The AFC and NFC Pro Bowl teams will be announced Tuesday.

I watch SpoortsNation quite a bit, and the polling numbers are always skewed high for Timmeh. Cowherd has taken to picking the higher number, even though he admits he doesn't get it, because he knows america loves Tebow. He does the opposite for Romo. He came right out and said that he doesn't understand, but that how the sports public is, right now.

Does not deserve it at all

But to be honest - who else should it be?? Sanchez stinks. Fitzpatrick is God-Awful. Moore is OK, just not Pro-Bowl material at all. Flacco is so up and down. Dalton is a pretty good pick, but he has a lot of INTs. McCoy is hurt all the time so it's hard to judge there. Hasselbeck would be a pretty good choice earlier in the season. Who the heck does Indy have as a QB?? Jacksonville just stinks and they should have no-one invited to the Pro Bowl.

He deserves to be in the Pro Bowl. I'd say Phillip Rivers if I can't choose Matt Schaub. Rivers does have a lot of INTs but he does a great job of getting the ball down field.

Romo, Stafford, or Ryan (hasn't he been injured this year?)

Ryan rolled his ankle in a game against the Lions, but returned. Stafford played with a broken index finger. With the exception of one week, it didn't seem to affect his play. He's got amazing numbers this year, especially yards, and another 5 TD game.

Up until the 49ers win over the Steelers, the 49ers were in 3rd and the Lions 6th.. and it could end up that way yet. I don't know what the Lions might do, but SF always has problems in Seattle so I wouldn't surprised if they still end up as the 3rd seed..

I've only seen part of a game with the 49ers, so they didn't really register.

I'm not a huge fan of the niners or anything, but I did think that Smith was going to be a decent quarterback when he came into the league and have thought that he's taken a lot of heat over the years that he didn't always deserve. So it's cool seeing him have a successful season.

can't play in the Pro Bowl? If that's so, than Tebow will be the number 2 since there's a better than even chance either Brady or Ben will be in the Super Bowl.

Oh well, I guess I won't be missing much.............
