My novel is now available in paperback

Last edited Sat Apr 14, 2012, 08:05 PM - Edit history (1)

It's a story about the murder of a homeless woman, based on my experiences volunteering at a food bank, clothing bank, and soup kitchen over the last 10+ years in Seattle. You can find it at:

I hope you'll read it. Thanks!

I just downloaded it to my Kindle. It looks like a good read. You've got some good reviews at Amazon. You've made DU proud!

I'm gonna add a link to Amazon's Kindle for others who might want to download to their Kindle.

If you like it, I'd really appreciate your giving me a good review on Amazon. I'd like to attract a big publisher.

It came from the heart. For me the mystery was always just a vehicle for the real story, which is who are the homeless now and what it's like for them. If you like it all the way through to the end, I hope you'll write a review for Amazon. Yes, I'm working on an outline for the sequel.

You can download a free Kindle app for your PC on the same page as you can order the book.

Since I'm online all day at work, I've started using the browser-based "Cloud Reader" from Amazon more than the Kindle for PC app, and even more than my actual kindle. It's free, and it opens right in your browser; nothing to buy, nothing to download. If you choose to allow it, it will also store the book on your computer for offline use, so you don't have to be on the internet to read what you've downloaded.

As an aspiring author, I commend and admire you. Look forward to reading your book, and the sequel when it's done. Long, long ago, I lived in Ballard. Interesting memories from that part of Seattle.

Best wishes.

I've been here in the same apt. for over 12 years. You'll probably recognize some of the places where the action happens, especially the marina and old food bank. I never name Ballard as the location, but describe it as the setting.

15. research question

Congrats on finishing your novel! I'd love to pick it up when I can take a break from the research I'm currently slogging through.

To that end, I have a question I'm hoping you might have some suggestions for: I'm looking for contemporary novels (2000s, 2010s) that are aesthetically experimental, and also advocate/promote/explore radical political ideas. I'd really appreciate any suggestions you, or anyone else, has! Thanks --
