Posted something to this effect in another thread; but ...
thought it merits rep-posting here.
Something equally surprising happened to me ...
I live in a very red part in NW Pima County, Arizona (Oro Valley).
I arrived at the pooling station at about 6:25a.m. In the 20+ years in have been voting there, there was never more than 5-10 people waiting to vote ... usually there are more poll workers than voters.
Well, this morning there were 40 people waiting in line; but here's the kicker ... there were 15 other Black folks and one Black poll worker!
Go President Obama; Go Ron Barber; Go Rich Carmona!
I even voted for two Democratic Constables and 1 Democratic Justice of the Peace!
I'm in the nj 7th district . . . in 2006 - my polling place did not look like this . . .
Lot's of wearin' o the blue.
Lots of Chivukula/Obama/Menendez bumper stickers.
Lot's of non whites - Same number of African Americans - but replaced by the caucasians? Asians of many ethnic backgrounds, Asian Indians, Pakistani, and lots of caucasians with Eastern European accents.
The 7th district has changed - and that's why Chivukula has gotten as far as he has.
That can ONLY make it easier for the Latino man (Current Senator Menendez) running for Senate - and the black man running for the White House.
