Harlem Renaissance dancer Edna Guy letter.

My mom just found a letter from Edna in a bunch of pictures she was sorting. It's no biggie, but it does mention where she was working at the time. This was probably in the early 50s long after she was forced to quit dancing.

I don't know if it has any historical significance but, if so, where should it go?

...I hope you can find one.

Also, might there be heirs or descendants who might be interested?

I am, at this moment, genuinely stunned at what Facebook seems to have done to my ability to link a photograph location. Shocked to my socks, actually. It used to be quite simple. Now... I may be done posting albums on Facebook.

Yes, there's Edna's daughter whom my mother would very much like to contact (bucket list) but nothing has worked.

Children are remarkable, pure and just wonderful.

For FB pictures, I use a mac and open the picture and then copy the URL (http address) and paste into a message.

On a PC I think it's right click/ view image, then copy URL.

There's also some oral history which my mom has but I would only garble. She says Edna insisted Martha Graham destroyed her career by ruining her back. It's minor personal gossip but I just don't know if there's a record of it anywhere.

I know some people that might be able to offer some good suggestions.

Hi,
Obviously you wrote about finding the Edna Guy letter in 2012 so I am sure you found a place for the letter. But if you didn't let me know ok as there was a professor of dance I wrote to a few years ago about Edna Guy and she was very knowledgeable. Edna Guy was my mother's roommate and friend and I was searching for information on Edna's Carnegie Hall production as my mother mentioned she had done watercolors that hung in the foyer and also the backdrops for Edna. I wish someone had been taking photos of that one night production !!
