(3,557 posts)I only knew about applebees.
Except, when I'm in most public settings, I hate letting people know that I'm a veteran. It always bring up "what did you do?" sorts of questions. I made the mistake of applying for a BSM-V license plate when I was in Delaware and the whole staff gathered around to ask me "what did you do to get that?". They didn't like it when I said "I killed a whole bunch of people". I think they were expecting some sort of a glorious war story and not a frank admission like that...
I almost started to write a long rant, but I'll save it for another post.
Thanks,
Victor

(1,922 posts)I was home on leave and the local High School asked me to come talk to the students about Viet Nam - some feel-good kinda crap.
So I went out onto the gym floor and told the kids that I wasn't there to speechify, but I would be glad to answer some questions.
"What is the first thing you do when you enter a village?"
"Throw the old people in the well."
They cut off my mic.

(1,922 posts)only Chipotle, Sprint and Continental Airlines would interest me at all.
That said, it's pretty cool that those businesses are giving vets a break.

(77,097 posts)and Olive Garden and I think they prollee did more business than they gave away, so just another promotion to exploit vets and their families.
