Chad Pratt was inside the kitchen showing another friend his handgun.

"Pratt had been drinking alcohol, underage, while displaying a loaded handgun. He fired the gun, which struck his friend in the head, ultimately killing her."

3. Reminds me of a friend that shot his wife

while "working" on his 357, only he hadn't been drinking.

She got to hug her 3 kids and say bye to them before leaving to meet the ambulance that never showed. She died during the transfer from his truck to the ambulance.

Safety first, drinking and showing your loaded firearm never.

4. A better title...

"Chad Pratt was being a fucking moron in the kitchen..."

There, I fixed it.

Only fucking morons combine alcohol and guns. It doesn't rack up the body count like drinking and driving, but drinking and shooting can be just as fatal (as in "just enough" fatal to kill).

5. where were the parents? god forbid. horrible. so much wrong here. I fault the parents and they

will have the rest of their lives to deal with this.

There has to be some type of negligence charges for this sort of thing.

8. In a nation of 310 million people, some of them will be stupid.

Because he was stupid is no reason to try to take my gun away from me.

9. He's going to prison for that one.

That's what happens, or should happen, in cases like this. He owns the bullet.

10. I don't know what the laws in Washington

are, but in Minnesota, it is not legal for anyone under age 21 to possess a handgun.
