Another drug using violent criminal lose in society murders with a gun.

Northridge shooting suspect was on probation, promised to avoid guns
http://www.dailynews.com/ci_22133834/northridge-shooting-suspect-was-probation-promised-avoid-guns?source=most_viewed

The lead suspect in the fatal shootings of four people in Northridge promised a judge in September that he would stay away from guns when he was placed on probation for a methamphetamine charge, according to court records.

Hidden criminal my ass, known criminals should not be on probation. Even if a drug crime, he should at least be in a treatment center.

What do you think?

1. If all of the victims were carrying concealed weapons

the life saving devices would have saved their lives... don't you know. Or something like that.

3. This person should not have had access to firearms.

Looking at his repetitive criminal record (Theft auto, possession, robbery, petty theft), as well as his drug of choice (Meth) should be an instant indicator that this person should not be on the streets at all, let alone with access to a firearm. This is not a failure of the firearm industry; this is a failure of the criminal justice system. I certainly fear nutjobs like this far more than I fear a non-felon CCWer, and although I don't carry, I'd certainly like the -choice- to defend myself against maniacs such as this should the need arise. Do you disagree?

4. But, you don't know the defendant was a victim of society!

7. I would rather be able to shoot back...

...than to have cower and pray as my only option. It was grossly illegal for the felon to have a gun, but being a criminal he didn't care about the law. Law abiding adults do need to arm themselves for their own protection.

2. Sounds like a lotta second, third, fourth chances.

Perhaps the suspect was relishing in his power to game the system & get what he wanted, and figured he'd just get a little more.

5. Guns are the Sirens of the streets.

Without all the legal guns there would be no illegal guns....(or some such BS)

6. Multiple prior convictions:

From the article:

In 2004, he was twice convicted of unauthorized taking of a vehicle. He was then convicted of robbery in 2006 and of petty theft in 2010, a charge that was elevated to a felony because of his record.

By definition robbery involves violence or the threat of violence. So this guy was violent felon, out on the streets.
