Looking for a temporary Group Host

Hello everybody,

As you probably know, I'm in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Also as you probably know, we're about to get socked by Hurricane Sandy.

I can't guarantee I'll have Internet access. I'll be doing shelter work, too. I can't guarantee I'll be able to perform my hosting duties.

For possibly a week!

In August I was away camping, and at the last minute realized I wouldn't be able to host or a couple of days, so I had appointed Shadowrider host for the weekend. He had privately volunteered previously on an unrelated topic. Nothing happened, so the appointment went largely unnoticed.

Now that there's some warning and my foresight is working, I'd like there to discussion and consensus for a temp host.

Reply to this thread with a nomination (you can nominate yourself) and vote for that person by replying to the nomination.

if he/she is willing...

It's pretty easy, for the most part locking OT threads is the only duty. Especially for someone doing it as a PT gig bannings or getting tossed out would be looked upon in a bad light by anyone.

We should keep the choices limited to those who have not openly advocated this group be removed from DU, use purity tests, troll hunt, or abuse the jury system with trivial alerts.

As for the hosting, I would just leave it alone: off-topic threads can be locked later, and there's never been an emergency that couldn't wait a week (or forever)...

Hope the damage from this storm is not significant and wish you and other adversaries well.

Good news if we lose power here in DC, you'll have significantly fewer posts to monitor with my absense. LOL.
