(2,477 posts)but those grandfathered in before, I believe, 1984 are still legal to own, all you have to do is pass an up your ass background check, pay the $200.00 tax stamp and then have the coin to buy an automatic weapon, which are quite expensive.

(12,072 posts)There was plenty else to bash Romney about. I give him a pass on that. For the ordinary, non-wealthy citizen, there are just too many hurdles to jump through to get a legal one. It was easier to say that they were illegal than to explain the details of getting one legally.
