Quite a surprising read:

5. We only need to ban "assault" nerf guns...

We'll allow people to own this one...

...but this one is inherently more evil and dangerous because it looks scary.

7. I'm sure we can ...

... come to a "common-sense" ban on Nerf Assault weapons just as soon as we've analyzed the cyclical rates, muzzle velocities, and magazine capacities .

After all -- does anyone really NEED more an 10-round capacity on a Nerf weapon?

14. A couple of ours have shoulder thingies.

I don't even want to imagine a Nerf Bayonet charge. Oh, the horror.

10. When will they learn?

Hasbro’s marketing people had been asking their target customers—boys ages 8 to 16—what they wanted out of a blaster, and the boys always said the same two things: more distance and more ammo capacity.

They don't seem to realize that the Nerf-Rifle-Association lobby doesn't represent them but only those evil folks at Hasbro.

12. I was over at a friend's house a few years ago

and his 10 year old daughter and her friend were playing in the yard. We live in a very liberal community and my friend is a dyed in the wool card carrying fourteen carat gold started a commune in the sixties Buddhist hippie. A more anti weapon milieu there does not exist on the planet. But we looked outside and the girls had found a couple of sticks and were sword fighting with them.

We're much more like chimps than bonobos.

13. My ten year old sons...

can clear a stair well with their Nerfs. It's always fun to watch them with their buddies when they decide on a cold winter's day to play Nerf in the house. The screaming usually starts when the kid at the top of the stair well learns what suppressive fire is all about. You just have to make it to the top before the big shooter with the drum magazine runs dry. If we had a Nerf Grenade we could do it much more efficiently.

Problem is I've been caught red handed feeding my carrots to the dog. I'll need to find a straw buyer; hmmm, perhaps my daughter...
