"25 to 30 pills of Percocet, a powerful painkiller; more than an ounce of marijuana" Yep, bet this guy had a CCW and was a Life NRA member. I guess easy access to firearms forced him to get the drugs. Can't wait to see this one on the national news.

1. won't he be losing that CCW now?
|
one idiot down.
I'm not against people owning guns. In this day and age no one feels safe in the city and the country folk need protection too. Ak's though should require a special, "I am not an idiot", license to own. Don't know how to do that. But hopefully a solution will be found. |

3. even AK pistols are large.
|
I was looking at an underfolder Saturday, I'd love to have on just to add to my collection. I'd probably never shoot it, just polish it and enjoy what a fine work of art a good quality AK is.

6. That's exactly why rifles and shotguns are so rarely misused
|
despite their popularity.
I shot competitively with a civilian AK for a while before switching to a Rock River AR. The AK was nearly 3 feet long, eight or ten inches high with a magazine inserted, several inches thick, and weighed something like ten pounds with magazine and optic...and that was a relatively compact 16" barreled model (a ban-era 2002 SAR-1). Loaded magazines were nearly two pounds *each*. Just a spare magazine was considerably bigger and heavier than a 9mm pistol. |

9. I like to bring that up to the U.S. soldiers/airmen that I know...
|
who complain about how much "better" the AK is....
"Yeah, but who the hell wants to hump an AK and its heavy-ass mags?" Most of them never thought of that. I want to be fair, the AK and AR are both excellent designs; for my purposes, though, the AR stands head and shoulders above the AK. |

26. the weight is the real deciding factor....
|
you can carry three times the ammo in mags for the ar... plus hundreds of extra rounds on stripper clips... if your goal is to put lead down range the AR gets a big plus...
if you are looking to use the mags to beat someone with after they are empty nothing tops the AK... those mags are heavy.... |

27. Is there a big difference in weight of ammo?
|
A modern AK uses 5.54x39 rounds, as opposed to 5.56x45 used in the M16. Is there a big difference in weight?

29. not sure
|
every AK I have ever used was 7.62x39... I assume the steel mags are still where most of the weight comes from...
found this googling around... The AR mag weighed 14.85 ounces so if the mags are steel for 7.62 and 5.54 it stands to reason you would still see a good difference between them.... |

7. "The stock and the bayonet had been removed from the AK-47 so it would fit in the bag"
|
Personally I've never seen a bayonet mounted except in museums. Apparently he had it in a shoulder bag.
LOL Bayonet, a real WMD. I guess tetanus would count as biological warfare. |

11. You could have a pretty good weekend in Philly with all that,
|
"Inside, Adorno found a .38-caliber revolver with six rounds in the chamber; the AK-47 with a 40-round clip; the 12-inch hunting knife; from 25 to 30 pills of Percocet, a powerful painkiller; more than an ounce of marijuana; and $716 in cash, she said."

I need to find one of those 40 round "clips". ETA: Oh wait. Searching through other stories I find that the "hunting knife" may actually be the "bayonet" in question. |

Keep in mind all the stereotypes that are cast on legitimate gun owners and all the abuse they take just for breathing and having an opinion.
Criminals are criminals. Legitimate gun owners should not be blamed for their deeds. |

Carrying a firearm, nobody gets hurt, no property damaged, no victim.
Carrying drugs, nobody gets hurt, no property damaged, no victim. Oh man, the "officials" are "shaking their heads" at "what might have happened." DAMN, QUICK someone call precrime! And, lest we forget, "he had a face on him, like he was up to no good." Thank God the "Viper" ( I think they mean VIPR, so how good is the reporting that can't be bothered to check its facts) team was there. Because of their name we totally know they are there to serve and protect, and not be scary as fuck, like a venomous snake. Homework: "Malum in se v. Malum prohibitum" |

|
Hey I've heard what the gun toter said right here: "What guns?" Then he claimed to have "just bought them," and then said "he uses them at a shooting range."
And, there are many here who have condemned the police for stopping someone strutting down the street with a gun or two. |

Someone with your claimed abilities is wasting your time here. James Randi has a million dollars waiting for you.
Why, you could even set an example and donate it to the Brady Camapaign-it would raise their budget to almost 1% of the NRAs... |

23. It appears this guy was
|
carrying the guns illegally and had illegal drugs on him. Why would supporters of the 2nd Amendment have anything good to say about this guy?
I highly doubt he had an AK-47 assault rifle. Even the cops can't seem to get the details correct when it comes to guns. |
