NRA's Arms Treaty Hysteria Too Much Even For Fox

Even Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly isn't buying National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre's outrageous claims that a yet to be finalized United Nations treaty to regulate the import and export of small arms worldwide will strip Americans of their Second Amendment rights and cause American citizens "to be added to that pile of dead people left defenseless by the policies."

The NRA has repeatedly offered such false and conspiratorial claims in response to the treaty, claims which in the past have been echoed on Fox. But during today's interview, Kelly repeatedly pushed back on LaPierre's talking points.

After LaPierre made the false claim that the proposed treaty "says to people in the United States turn over your personal protection and your firearms to the government," Kelly attempted to steer him back to reality by suggesting the treaty is about "global arms sales" not "domestic sales." On multiple occasions she urged him to justify his baseless claims.

1. Duplicate thread - posted the same cite yesterday

As much as we all appreciate you making the sacrifice and watching Faux TV for us, posting the same cite day after day doesn't make your point any more valid.

This is a post about Fox News not buying the NRA hysteria. I don't see any previous posts on this.

3. Actually, that OP from yesterday was a different story.

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/07/03/nra-kicks-off-un-arms-treaty-conference-with-fe/186926.

I'm not sure if you understand how blogs work. You see, the content of the front page updates with the latest post... Also, the OP didn't watch FOX TV, only posted a link to mediamatters, which is a liberal media watchdog.

As much as lying is second-nature for NRA types, it would be kind of fun if you posted something truthful from time to time.

5. Gun nuts here don't really want to talk about

the crazy ass political positions that the NRA takes. They'd rather not talk about how their dues pay speaking fees for $arah Palin and Glenn Beck.
