Police: Teaneck man pulled gun on neighbor for farting
http://www.nj.com/bergen/index.ssf/2012/06/police_teaneck_man_pulled_gun_on_neighbor_for_farting.html
An elderly man was arrested Monday night after a neighbor's fart allegedly drove him to threaten him with a gun, police said. Daniel Collins, 72, had been involved in an ongoing dispute with the unidentified neighbor for some time, Det. Lt. Andrew McGurr told NJ.com. The neighbor told officers that Collins pointed a revolver at him in the vestibule of their apartment building at 694 Cedar Lane at around 9:25 p.m. Collins said he confronted the man after hearing him pass gas in front of his apartment door, but denied threatening him with a gun. He consented to a search, and officers recovered a .32 caliber revolver from his vehicle. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a firearm and making terroristic threats. <more>

2. I've cut some farts so bad I'm sure I would have earned being threatened with a gun.
|
The victim probably would have if he could have gotten through the cloud of noxious amnesia gas to reach his gun...

3. Shouldn't the "terroristic threats" charge be given to the guy with the "gas" weapons?

4. Well...
|
...in the presence of flammable gas seems like a bad time to be using anything that makes a spark.

5. I've been saying the elderly gun "enthusiasts" are a problem waiting to happen.
|
On the other hand, guns would give one the upper hand in a semi-private nursing home room.

6. This specific scenario is surprisingly common.

I got into a Mexican standoff with my family several years ago during a camping trip. Those RV bathrooms are what really need to be banned.
Incidentally, the term "Mexican standoff" may never have found its way into common parlance, had it not been for Taco Bell. |

10. He should have eaten Hoyt's can of beans...

...and then shot back with equal lethality. That's when a good supressor really does go pfft.

12. I'd rather be threatened with a .32 than a felonious fart any day.
