Justified to kill: A special report on self-defense homicides in Michigan

From Mlive.com:
http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/06/justified_to_kill_an_mlive_spe.html

This is what happens before the killing.

A burglar lunges, raising a brick. Sounds of a break-in begin after midnight. A drunken stranger comes at you on your porch in the dark.

And then your gun fires, and you are alive, and they are dead. And you are justified.

This is what happens after the killing.

For Bob Clarke it was lawsuits and depression.

For Willie White, it’s what runs through his mind as he waits for sleep.

And for Jeff Dykehouse, it’s sounds in the night that probably mean nothing.

“But for those of us who have had, ‘It’s probably nothing,’ turn out to be, ‘It’s something really, really bad, and it’s going to try and kill you,’ well, when those memories run through your mind it’s a little hard to get back to sleep,” said the Grand Rapids photographer who shot the brick-wielding burglar.

Nice hook to the article. More stats, charts, and stories at the link, but the reporter doesn't really tie it all together with a conclusion.

even when used in the right circumstances, with the right outcome. They've primed the pump already with PTSD and lawsuits....they'll hit you with both barrels in parts 2-5.

whats the matter? Keep losing in the courts, the legislatures, the school of public opinion, and now in the news?
Less and less places to go to spread your anti gun propaganda?
Too bad, so sad.

What you list are not justifiable, therefore not in the perview of the article. You can put your strawman back in the barn.

2-year-old sister with his dad's gun, these would seem to be deemed justifiable. When such a thing happens, the gunsters usually classify it as "an unfortunate accident" - i. e. justified.

someone that age does not have the ability to reason the chain of events, therefore they are not responsible for an action. That makes them immune from from prosecution. Justifiable homicide is the lawful taking of human life. That ranges from self defense, which I support, to a capitol punishment, which I do not.

Your example is not "justifiable", it is an accident. You are just trying to smear gun owners.

and highly unusual from a media that has a definite bias against victims who defend themselves against an attack.
