Summer may not start for a few more weeks, but this being Memorial Day weekend with warmer temperatures, pools opening up and lots of people starting to expose more skin than they really have a right to (remember, Speedos and bikinis are a privilege, not a right), concealed carriers need to make some changes. Plenty of toters still continue to go IWB with an untucked shirt. Im testing out a N8² Tactical Professional (above), hauling my CW9 around. Its been surprisingly comfy in shorts, even directly against bare skin with just a baggy t-shirt or polo providing cover. Others take a similar route with a Remora. Lots o gunnies, though, cant abide IWB. Some will go the hip-hugging pancake route. Others basically say, screw it, opting for a mouse gun in the pocket of their cargo shorts (tucked snugly in an appropriate pocket holster, natch.) What about you? Whats your hot weather solution? IWB, pancake, pocket carry or *gasp* au naturale?

Or, you could do like the prisoners in Papillon did.
Or, you could go like this fine law abiding fellow:

(2,631 posts)That's funny right there. You're the one who professed this uber knowledge. I seriously doubt your ability to do it, or that you were ever taught such a thing. Your unwillingness to prove it speaks volumes.

A goat roper is a wannabe rancher or a cowboy poser. Goat ropers have the 4x4 pickup and the cowboy hat, but no cattle, horses, brain, or land.

(17,493 posts)I carry a S&W Model 642 .38 snub nosed revolver in a pocket holster in the front right pocket of my cargo shorts or pants.
But I live in Florida where in most months the temperature is warm if not hot.

(653 posts)I have several choices for carry, i usually carry a SA XD .40, sub compact, in a Don Hume IWB retention holster, or occasionally a Glock
26 in the same brand IWB.
When i can't wear a belt, i carry one of these in a pocket holster,
or one of these in a pocket holster,
The smaller caliber is a compromise i'm willing to live with, since IMO, it's better to be armed with a small firearm then , be unarmed.

(599 posts)Alot of people don't like the 10mm because of recoil, but if I ever have to use it, it has the power to stop an attacker with one round no matter where it hits. And before you chime in Hoyt, no, I don't ever want to shoot anyone again.

(768 posts)I'm neither "depressed" nor "sad" or even "disappointed" about the fact that I am disallowed from carry.
The fact that I am none of the above does not in any way suggest that I am "happy" that I cannot. Nor does the fact that my state is a corrupt-issue state suggest that I shouldn't be able to advocate for concealed carry.

(341 posts)...it is also a fact that CC worries some people, too. It is incorrect to say that CC does not.
The questions related to worries about OC or CC are:
--What are the worries?
--Are they phobias or are they rational worries?
--What does the evidence say about whether the rational worries are valid or not?
My experience and knowledge-base as both a CC'er and OC'er overwhelmingly indicates that lawful carry by a lawfully and peaceably behaving carrier (CC or OC) is neither a real public safety problem nor perceived to be a problem by a large majority of the public at large.

(22,457 posts)these CC idiots at Obama speeches does not help the gun cause. It create more bad attitudes about guns.
I don't think open carry is a safety issue, I think it is a image issue.

Glock 26 in Blade-Tech Partial Eclipse OWB (uses 2 rigid belt loops). I originally bought the conventional wisdom that IWB was the way to go, but it is uncomfortable and unnecessary since OWB pancake holsters fit close enough (even with a thick gun like the Glock) that it works almost all the time.
