7. In my opinion the Democratic Party should simply ban the use of the word "ban." ...

Even most gun owners favor improvements to our current gun laws that would help keep guns out the wrong hands. However a high percentage of gun owners and even people who do not own guns do not want to see another Federal Assault Weapons Ban pass nor do they want to see gun laws in our nation like those in Great Britain.

Now according the the news liberal Democrats are starting to buy firearms now that Trump has been elected.

Gun ownership has traditionally been associated with the right wing in America but the election of Donald Trump has prompted some left-wingers to join gun clubs - and even start preparing for the collapse of society.

Gun sales in America hit record levels in October amid fears a Hillary Clinton election victory would lead to increased controls.

Many expected the election of Donald Trump, whose candidacy was backed by the National Rifle Association, to bring an end to the panic buying. Shares in gun manufacturers dropped by as much as 18% following his victory.

But instead FBI background checks for gun transactions soared to a new record for a single day - 185,713 - during the Black Friday sales on 25 November, according to gun control news site The Trace.

Some of this has been put down to gun retailers selling off stock at reduced prices, but there have also been reports of more "non-traditional" buyers, such as African Americans and other minorities, turning up at gun shops and shooting ranges.

Lara Smith, national spokesperson for the Liberal Gun Club, says her organisation has seen a "huge" rise in enquiries since November's election and a 10% increase in paid members.

I don't care what the subject of the law is... Why are YOU supporting it, demanding passage of it, passing it, than acting all surprised and HORRIFIED, when the opposition takes control? Are they really that clueless, and arrogant to think they will never loose an election again? Just one look at the losses our party have taken over the past 8 years and still arrogantly thinking the other side will "never" take power?

This is not just about gun control, for example, what about being able to "drone strike" a US Citizen among other things....

Sadly extreme ignorance is not a one party feature.

Before any new law, on ANY subject is proposed, the question should be asked..

"What about when the opposition is in power? Is this law truly a good idea?"

Running with your thought in a different direction, VM, the credibility we lose with our pridefully ignorant nonsense on gun control hurts our cred overall. People have every right to distrust us on all issues, given that the Democratic Party is 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' on "gun control".

The horrifyingly severe self-inflicted wounds we've inflicted upon ourselves are absolutely infuriating and depressing simultaneously.
