Related: About this forum327 denied concealed carry licenses because of poor training
Instead, Ambrose, 38, of Joliet said he learned Monday that his application had been denied because he took a class in Bolingbrook that didnt meet state requirements from an instructor whos had his right to teach revoked. Ambrose said although some students had voiced concerns about the part of the class to be taught online, the teacher told them the training met state standards.
I kind of feel like a fool, he said.
Illinois State Police announced Tuesday that the agency denied concealed carry licenses to 327 applicants who received inadequate training from a firearms instructor in Bolingbrook. Though state police spokeswoman Monique Bond declined to give the instructors name, she said the class didnt meet state criteria because it didnt involve 16 hours of in-person training, instead including an online component.

(16,974 posts)Sounds like they did the right thing. I do not think anyone's against proper training.
Once again you are afraid to comment I see
That Google searching and cutting and pasting must be tiring.

YOU will not answer a simple question, YOU deflect from any honest discussion.
Yep everyone knows your ways and how you and a few others work.
It really has become a joke for to shine some sunlight on to some from your side of the argument.

(16,974 posts)I see when the light is shined on some here they just run and hide.
I like exposing them to the bright lights of truth.
Do not have to use ignore when they run and hide and fail to answer a simple question

(17,671 posts)but for Sec it's a way to claim territory. When you look at the RKBA group page the titles all read like everybody posting here is anti gun or pro "gun safety" or whatever. But it only works if you don't click on one of the threads and see how the arguments of the bloviating editorials and bad journalism get shredded. So basically its for people with the most superficial interest in the issue. Think Potemkin advocacy.

You double down on it?
People aside from Americans read Mellville, so your little link is unecassary and patronising...
But your pompous and racist attitude is amazing, seriously it is one thing to hate me because i disagree on "gunz", and to play your bigoted games on that aspect I have come to expect it... But on this site to come and belittle me for my nationality, or user name in such an obvious racist way.

(1,315 posts)You have belittled me due to my english lapses, this is ok to you, it is merely an extension of the constant bigotry and dehumanization of gun owners, your responses and attitude would never stand if you showed this lack of basic human decency to any other "type" of poster, it is insulting, and very distressing to see it allowed on this site, I give freely to help maintain this place because on most any other subject, i am in agreement with the majority, but due to my stance on one platform, which is in line with the parties stated purpose, I am allowed to be belittled, and culturally denigrated.
YOu do not get to decide what constiutes hurtful or abusive speach to me, before I merely pointed out your bigotry about guns, but am truly disgusted at your pointed and obvious verbal abuse and taunting , I am educated, and for the most part do well with English, but hey i make mistakes, perhaps if you looked at what i say not how i say it you would actually get that.

(460 posts)When these kinds of laws are clearly written, and enforced, it is to the benefit of all society. The gun control mob should see that all permit holders are really qualified to carry under the law, and that firearms owners obey the law.I feel sorry for the people who were scammed by this sorry excuse of an instructor, but they may be able to receive a refund form him, and will check the credentials of the instructor that they hire next time. This is a positive lesson for anyone who believes in personal firearms rights. It also demonstrates to the hoplophobes that concealed carry is not the "Wild West", and there will not be "blood in the streets" like they prophesied, but that we believe in the rule of law, and obeying it.

(6,185 posts)They were scammed by a guy who claimed he could do the required 16 hours of instruction in 8 hours online and the range qualification was going to be on the "Honor" system. Which is of course, total bullshit. What he did was crank through 320+ of their checks for $175 in record time.
But at the same time the students were eager enough to find a shortcut (cheat?) to getting certified, that they didn't check with the state police to see if this was in any way legit. One phone call or going online would have told them this was a scam.
The police haven't named the instructor publicly, but most of us know who it is and a group of us have offered to help them get the proper training for a discount to cover our cost of materials.
They have every right to sue the now de-certified instructor, but between the cost for the lawyer and the time there's not much there to be had.
Anytime you have something with a pent up high demand there's going to be someone that tries to game the system. The Illinois State Police did the right thing and maybe these folks will stop looking for short cuts now.
