Ummmm....ever heard of the filibuster? The vote was 54 to 46, but fell short of 60. The vast majority of Dems voted yea, while the vast majority of Republicans voted nay.

Cali_Democrat
(30,439 posts)and the Dems like Feinstein who voted yea actually supported less gun control?
Got it!
That's why I love the gungeon. You guys really educate me on who supports gun control and who doesn't.

(17,502 posts)little mentioned. Most of the gun blogs ignored it. The loosening would simply make interstate sale of handguns the same as rifles and shotguns. Was it a reasonable trade? Not the one I would have made. Personally, I would have moved some short barreled rifles to title one. As it is, a single shot with a 15 inch barrel is regulated the same as a machine gun under NFA 34.
Many gun rights groups actually supported M-T.
here is a re print by an op ed that mentions it.

Most politicians don't read the whole bill, and neither does anyone else. I did see it mentioned in one gun blog, but no place else.

BTW, I have always voted Democrat, and have never voted GOPer. Can you say the same? What is your party? Are you a liberal or progressive? I have no indication what you are.
