As for some of he comments " founders clearly wanted the citizenry to have same weapons as he military" ....eh , no. Not even Scalia argues that bullshit.

If citizens had the same weapons as the military in this day and age the entire planet would be blown up in no time at all. The military should not be allowed to possess some of the weapons they have today much less some gun nut.

... so don't give up on us so quickly. A DU of the 1860's would have seen many Democrats arguing for preserving the Southern States slavery laws in accordance with the party platform. Progressive ideals -- like the ideal that all Americans are entitled to ALL the rights espoused in the Constitution and not just those with whom you agree -- take time to catch on in some minds.

Soon, they will all learn what you and I already know -- being progressive is about EXPANDING civil rights, not curtailing them.
