NC man 'I was fighting for my life'

HICKORY, N.C. A Hickory man is grateful to be alive after he said an intruder broke down his front door, and tried to beat him and rob him Saturday morning

Good story out of NC. Nice that he had the tools on hand to defend his life...

1. Ohle said he reached for a single-shot shotgun he keeps by the door..

what kind of wuss-ass doesn't use a .223 carbine with jungle-taped 30 rd mags to defend his castle? i'm not buying this story.

2. Even the cheapest AR's are 500 bucks...not everyone can afford a nice carbine.

I hope he evaluates his emergency preparedness.

For most people a single 30 is enough for self defense. For my AR I keep one 30 in the lower and a second one near my 45 on the headboard.

As the old saying goes; Better to have and not need than need and not have.
