It is a Browning Citori 425 American Sporter model.

A very nice shotgun, in the $3000-3500 price range. They make a left-handed version, too, so it's likely that version is the one in his hands.

I've never owned a Browning anything. All of my shotguns have been older Ithaca side-by-side doubles.

you beat me to it, it most certainly is a Browning Citori. I've shot one, it's a sweet gun for trap, a little expensive for knockin down pheasants in Minnesota....

shotguns have a higher ventilated rib. I've not shot one, but I'm a fan of side-by-side doubles anyhow, and I'm not a trap or skeet shooter.

I don't hunt upland game any longer, though, although I've been thinking about taking my old Ithaca up to northern Minnesota after grouse some day.
