I have an honest question, those against arming teachers or posting cops, none of the ridicule comes from security experts, firearms/self defense instructors or experts, or even cops. All the criticism I see are pundits who have no such qualifications making nonsensical rants and personal attacks. Not saying I support the idea, just saying I don't see people who know what they are talking about saying anything.

why would I support anyone's plan about anything without knowing what it is? That is like saying having troops with full auto assault rifles (real assault rifles, not the pretend assault rifle sometimes called "assault weapon&quot is a great idea simply because Boxer is a Democrat.

For either of us know, he could be saying "That Bill Ruger guy had the right idea". and leave it at that. I picture NICS improvement and a return to a the Bill Bennett inspired import ban.
I just find it odd that people are basing their opinions on the irrational and uninformed rants of TV pundits.

in favor of an unmagnified Aimpoint or Eotech for that scenario.

Teach by example, for sure.

Our county has had School Resource Officers ever since Ted Bundy found his final victim in a 12 yr. old junior high school girl here. In all those years since there's never been an issue with their presence that I'm aware of.

Why the need for such overwrought, hyperbolic displays from grab nuts to promote their views? Can't your arguments stand on their own merits without them?

hence my reference to Barbara Boxer plan. I didn't think of it as a cop in a SWAT outift.

In Chicago having one or two on duty cops in the halls during the day is not at all unusual in many high schools and "at risk" neighborhoods. Pretty low key and no problems for over a decade with them.

The private schools Rahm's kids and the President and many legislators children attend in DC also have multiple armed guards patrolling, in addition to the obvious secret service people.

But rather the alarmists like whoever drew this cartoon and the ones shrieking about, "ZOMG, you want militarize our schools!!!" at the mere mention of providing additional security.

Scare the masses enough and they'll support anything. How do you think we got the patriot act?
