Chik-fil-A stops giving money to anti-gay groups.
http://chicagophoenix.com/2012/09/18/chick-fil-a-agrees-to-end-anti-gay-donations-mandates-equal-treatment-of-gays/
"After months of negotiations with Ald. Proco “Joe” Moreno over its anti-gay positions and donations, Chick-fil-A has agreed to cease donations from its non-profit charity to anti-gay organizations and issued a company-wide internal mandate calling for the equal treatment of all employees and customers." Congratulations, people!

1. I'm not sure if this will make a difference in the long run
|
I mean is it really different how many layers they go through?
They might not be giving money to say the Westboro Baptist Church but if for instance Dan Cathy funnels the donations through his church which then gives it to a anti-gay group is there really any difference? |

Quite frankly it's like people who keep getting sent to jail for the same thing and never learn.
I doubt Dan Cathy will ever learn. Just like any other conservative he will just get find sneakier and sneakier ways of funding bigoted groups. |

They will never change. And it's not just Cathy's personal money or beliefs. The COMPANY gives in kind products to just about every FAR right GOP organization, particularly those involving students and youths....all part of their propaganda indoctrination.
My hope is student activism at universities abates their ability to secure future contacts on campuses. I'm sure they will continue their 'value' based agenda. I intend to as we'll. |

8. Yeah, I hate the "personal beliefs" bullshit.
|
I have a friend who said, "I don't see what the problem is - it's just his personal beliefs!"
No, it's not. That money is coming out of the pocket of everyone who eats at Chick-Fil-A. So if you eat Chick-Fil-A, you are funding the action on behalf of those beliefs. |

....the money is not just coming directly from Cathy as a private citizen but from Chick-fil-A directly.
For my part, when traveling, I make a point of stopping to use the restroom at every Chick -fil-A. LOL. |
