Our smallest is a 16 lb (hefty) Shih-tzu.
Our biggest is our GSD, who, last vet visit, was just under a hundred.

(53,954 posts)They are all Chihuahuas, but the baby, Zatanna, I think may secretly be a pot-bellied PIG!

(24,282 posts)and the newest addition to the family is a Maltese/Yorkie mix. She is the runt of a litter of three, about nine months old and weighs three lbs. Her sister from the same litter weighs seven lbs. My daughter has her.
As you might expect, the three pounder runs the house. She tried to attack my grandson's 90 lb lab the other day. Forunately the lab has a sense of humor.

(28,463 posts)Peaty, supposedly a pure german shepherd but had the size and a few features of a great dane. He weighed in around 100, I guess. He died a few years ago at the ripe old age of 14.
The smallest dog I've ever had is my newest dog, Honey. She was found starving a few months ago, so we're not sure what she'll weigh when she stops showing ribs, but I'm guessing it will be in the 50-55 lb. range.
I've lived with dogs ranging in size from teacup chihuahua to a 125 lb. akita, via roommates over the years.

(34,105 posts)was 93 pounds but has aged and dropped into the lower 80's. Our male standard poodle is 8 months old and 68 pounds (weighed a few hours ago at the vets), female standard is around 40 pounds and our little beagle mix female is between 20 and 30 (I can't remember).
We like the bigger dogs but I have to admit to being a sucker for the little ones as well. For me a dog is great, big or small. Same with the kitties

(43,853 posts)has a complex from being given a boy's name. I've been considering changing the spelling to Freddi with a heart dotting the I. Edie, our smallest, weighs between 8 and 10 lbs, I'd say.
Stinky The Clown
(67,792 posts)He was always smaller, but as he's aged, he's gotten pretty thin.
Still healthy and gregarious, though. We call him The Mayor.

(1,136 posts)is a doberman/hound mix (that is what the SPCA told us)... he weighs in at 120 pounds on his big days, 115 pounds in the summer.
When he was a puppy and was gaining 10 pounds a month, I was beginning to wonder if I had adopted a pony.

(1,554 posts)the beastly one. Maybe part lab, maybe part pit. Weight: 90 lbs of pure mischief and energy.
The smallest: Carmella the black part Maltese. Weight as of Monday, 7 lbs 6 oz.
We have a total of 5 dogs, all rescues. All very loved.

(12,296 posts)Porter P Bear is a black lab/newf mix who's presently at about 90 lbs.
I've never been a fan of little-bitty doggies, Beagle is as small as I'll go.

(20,178 posts)She just came running up to us in the parking lot one night. Her ears were the biggest thing on her so my roommate named her BUNNY. She's about a year old now and weighs 16 pounds, although when she runs up and lands on my belly or my boob it feels more like 30.
This isn't her, but it's what she looks like. I'm so glad she found us!

(11,065 posts)He did at one time tip the scales at around 125 though he was a few pounds too heavy then. Boo was the smallest and never got over 88 pounds... surprisingly smallish for a male. Yoshi is close in size to my first one, but at 102 he's just a wee tiny bit overweight, and mostly the vet would like to see him get just a hair under a 100 lbs. just because when a dog is 100 lbs. or heavier they have to get the much higher doses of meds/vaccines, and there's a huge price difference.
