I'm really lucky that I have a similar kind of place in easy walking distance to me. The creek/stream/river that we have isn't as big but in most places the water rushes, and Yoshi loves attacking the water spanking it with his feet and biting at it. It's not a dog park, and actually most people don't even know that it's there or believe that it's private property. It used to be private property a long time ago, but most people don't know that the wealthy dude that owned it willed that it be given to the township specifically for people to enjoy the nature. It's held under a trust that takes care of the property and provides incognito security to make sure there's no fishing or hunting and to keep people from littering or polluting the stream. I think the relatively few people that know about it like to keep it on the "down low" so it doesn't get crowded or filthy... I know I never mention it to anyone.

The water is always freezing though even though it's pretty shallow in most spots, but I think that's because it comes from a really deep and huge underground spring further upstream. Actually, it's 3 or 4 springs and the smaller one is tapped with an old fashioned pump handle and people are lined up there all the time filling jugs of water. The trust has someone continually test the water that comes out of the pump to make sure it's safe to drink, and supposedly it's delicious. I can't remember where it is though, and haven't had much success in finding it. I went there once with someone that went all the time and I do remember it's on a back road and kind of hidden in the trees, so unless you knew where to look, you'd probably miss it. I've probably driven right past it several times when looking for it without realizing it. It's been driving me nuts for years now that I can't find it again.

Marcy is just adorable, and it sure looks like she's so happy and excited playing at your cool doggie park!

And I know exactly what you mean about having such trouble trying to get a picture of the pooch because they're never still! LOL!
