So not too many park trips and pictures for a while.
We were leaving the park and they started roughhousing behind me and hit me in the back of my knee as I was taking a step with my other foot. Went down and twisted my foot in doing so.
Dr.'s office called this morning and let me know that the X-ray showed a broken metatarsal on my big toe. Hard to work the clutch pedal with that.
This was about 15 minutes before they got me

(28,117 posts)of my left knee quite badly last year and it still hasn't completely healed.
Pups, gotta love 'em.
My injuries makes walking her a big problem since my right knee has a torn meniscus. So, I'm screw in both knees now.
I've also broken my toe before. Sorry but I'll take a broken toe over these very painful knees.

(872 posts)I've had a broken metatarsal. It is a piece of cake compared to a torn meniscus. Duppers, can you have an operation for the meniscus? I'm on Medicare, so I could afford that. It takes about six months to calm down afterwards for an older person, though.
My doc has me taking three Advil a day. That does help. There is also Voltaren(sp?) cream which I just started. It is supposed to reduce the pain by 1/3 if it's used 3-4 times a day for 2 weeks and then continuing. It is an NSAID, though, so it is toxic to cats. Don't know about dogs.

(5,946 posts)I try to sidle along the wall for the most part. My dog demanded the other day to leave the park, the dogs were so rambunction, too many puppies that my dog walked to the exit gate and woofed at me to come let her out! she is 15 and there was too much butt sniffing and jumping for her, and she did get hit twice by running dogs.

(9,808 posts)never intend to harm us, but my cats have come very close to making me break a hip or crack my backbone on several occasions. My own (100 lb.) sister was t-boned by a a 100 lb. chocolate lab back in December, destroying her right ankle. She had surgery to relocate/repair fractures and has just been released by her ortho. surgeon. The dog belongs to my niece who lives next door, and he was just romping around the backyard with his brother dog. You never know when life is going to just smack you down!!!
