Related: About this forumScooter killed a bird yesterday
I was walking him on lead and he spotted a group of birds. I let him run a bit thinking he couldn't catch them and before I could understand he would get the bird he had it. I feel bad but for some reason the bird didn't fly away. Bottom line be careful if you have a fast dog, he might actually get the animal.

Just watched our Corgi eat a mole that the cat killed this morning.

but I still feel bad. I really thought he couldn't catch them.

(18,219 posts)4. There are a lot of young birds at this time of year.
They are not as strong fliers, and they are not as ready to deal with danger. Some hardly can fly at all but have left the nest (adolescence---what can you do).
I know that you will not let this happen again, but you are warning others to be more careful. That is something.
