Related: About this forumI am dogsitting for two families over Thanksgiving...
one family is a few streets over and they have two little dogs that get so excited when I am there. One always pees on everything on a regular basis but the other likes to be let out to do his business so I go over three or four times a day. I would bring them to my house but I think they would traumatize my old brown bear.
The other is my next door neighbor's dog. I like to think of myself as as her second mom.
She will stay with us except overnight and she LOVES my dog. He gets a little nervous at first because she's so small compared to him...but then they end up snuggled on a pillow together. He stands at the door and cries when I have to take her back.
Fun times! Woof.

(16,334 posts)I like to send pictures to show the families everybody is ok. But you know how dogs look away or move too fast right when you are about to get the cutest shot!
Many times, I got a picture of a dog-shaped blur when I was trying to capture photos of my dog. Thanks.

(14,827 posts)For my niece about 50 miles away. I'm packing a bag and staying there. I don't have a pet of my own.
They're wonderful "girls" and great company. It usually takes the Belgian a day or two to get comfortable with me. The Golden on the other hand is my best friend immediately... but she's the "neediest" doggie I ever met.
I'm looking forward to good times.
You have fun too!!

(6,011 posts)I took care of two tiny dogs once who were kept in one non-carpeted room while their family was away. A supply of newspapers was there to leave on the floor in two places, and most of the time the dogs hit the spot. One of the benefits of keeping a subscription to the newspaper; I'd rather get the paper delivered than have to buy non-biodegradable piddle pads with plastic backing!
