got to spend some time with my girl tonight
the true love of my heart. wicked smart and sweet as sugar. left her with dad when i moved out, i just couldn't give her the life she has there.
we hung out and had a great little lovefest. also hung out with the (nearly 16-year-old) babies. they're such a great little clowder.
we have an understanding that i share my snacks with her (please don't tell my dad!). she's a garbage cat, but she didn't dig the dried sweet potato fry i shared with her. only time i've ever seen her spit something out.
she'll be 17 this spring, and although she's not the jumper she used to be, she's as healthy as you could want. the babies are, too. but i'm acutely aware of the passage of time. i only get out there two, maybe three, times a month and i try to make the most of every visit.
i love my girls, but dad's brood is who i grew up with and they hold a special place in my heart.
