1. So sorry your old pup is sick.

It so hard when they don't feel like themselves. Hope he surprises you and gets well soon!

12. I am wishing you and him well

in his sunset years. I have a dear cat that recently changed from middle aged to elderly. She now sleeps with me and never would have before. In fact, she wouldn't even sleep indoors at night.

5. I'm sorry to hear that

Hope your dear old boy gets better soon. A sick pet especially at a ripe old age is very distressing.

9. Stinky, you are the best.

Update on my boy: He had a shovel handle fall on him and he couldn't stand up. Given that he is a dachshund, you have to really be careful. I kenneled him for hours and then put ice on his spine. So when I got him out he was walking. I can't tell you the relief. The only place I could find comfort was here. Thank you all so much. I wish I could tell you what a comfort it was to come here and talk. Hugs to all of you from me and my little old man.

13. You are a kind soul.

Timmy could not be in better hands. My shih-tzu lived to be nearly 20 and SHE told ME when she was ready.

If you don't mind, could you keep us updated on Timmy's status?

20. i hate having old dogs.

i love them to death, of course, but it seems like the specter of that short life span just hangs in the air over them sometimes. it is such a nagging feeling.

glad he is feeling better.
