From the thread title, I was afraid I would be asked to oblige you with an argument, and I fully intended to explain why I didn't want to.

Poor little Aurora probably thought you (or the person videotaping her) had a drowning in mind. Guess she told you off, buster!

You should've seen me trying to trim my chows' toenails. Those dogs were each almost my size, and I had to do some serious wrestling to even halfway get to the job. Once when I'd just about pinned Joy to the floor, her sister Freedom tried to interfere and Joy started to squirm loose. Well, all my arms and legs were already busy, and I wasn't about to give up after so long a struggle, so I did the only thing left to subdue Joy. I did as her canine mom would've done and bit her on the muzzle. It came as such a shock that she actually quit fighting me for the few seconds it took to complete the job.

And no, I definitely don't recommend that everybody go around biting their dogs, especially not if they have chows. But it happened before I was hardly aware of what I'd done. Even now I still go out to their grave and ask Joy to forgive me for biting her. SHE never bit anybody in her life!
