Please send Rudy good wishes. (photo)

Rudy is a 3 year old, super friendly, neutered and house trained Labradoodle who is in the middle of a messy divorce. His owner wants to have him put down because it's too much trouble to give him his seizure pill every day.
My partner and I are trying to get him out of there and we have a very good possible foster, or possibly forever home waiting for him. Everything just has to come together.
It breaks my heart that this boy is being dumped by the family he loves. It happened to my Henry and it hurt him for a long time.

1. Wants to Put Down a 3 Year-Old?

How about putting down that heartless owner because they're too much trouble? I'm sure with just a little effort one can figure out have to give that pooch a pill. Peanut butter always works with my dog if it's not a capsule you can sprinkle over the food.

10. If my dogs need to be pilled with something they don't like

and if I'm out of PB, I hide it in a little bit of meat, even vienna sausage. A tiny bit of hot dog won't hurt them once in awhile.

4. Consider vibes already sent - and thank you!

Thank you so much for your efforts to save this kiddo.

What kind of jerk won't give a pill, much less won't let the dog go to someone who will???!!!

Best of luck to you.

5. The applications are piling up for Rudy!

Despite his seizures (he only had them one day and he's on phenobarb now) many wonderful people have lined up to adopt him!

Quite a few already have Doodles so he can have a best buddy right away. One applicant's Doodle has seizures as well, so he would fit right in. I can't wait to find out who his new lucky family is.

8. I had 2 seizure dogs for several years.

and my life was better for them, and for them, they were loved and spoiled and cared for many years. canine-epilepsy.com, has been around since 1996 ( I joined in 1997). It is a valuable resource. Alex the wonder dog, handsome prince and Duke the golden are dearly loved and deeply missed.

9. What a beautiful baby!

And how ugly a person must be to want to put him down. Please let us know how this turns out.

12. My dog has to take pills every day.

I buy extra lean ground round, press it flat, score it with a knife into small cubes and freeze it. I break off what I need for the day, defrost it and hide the pills in the meat. He loves pill (snack) time. These owners are just lazy assholes.

My dog has Addison's and a collapsed trachea.

Good luck with the pup!!
