What I did today.

The local supermarket has Asparagus on sale for $0.98 per pound. It usually sells for closer to 4 bucks a pound around here so I bought eight pounds, pickled the tips and turned the remains into creme of Asparagus soup.

I ordered it and this was the first recipie I've tried just because the price was right on the Asparagus. If you want, I'll post the recipie but you should be aware that it requires a boiling water bath canning step. If you are comfortable with that, let me know and I'll post the recipie.

I used to do a lot of canning, but never did asparagus. Nice that you are able to start filling the coffers early!
