I had three things besides condiments in my fridge yesterday.

Carrots, onions and broccoli.

I shredded the carrots quite long, left the onion rings fairly big, and basically just messed up the broccoli into little green balls. (I am not a great cook anymore). I added a little vinegar, dill weed, sugar and oil and omg was it good with some homemade garlic bread. Mind you, I was starving.

Now, my fridge is empty, which sucks as I'm hungry again.

Just my intro to the Cooking and Baking Group. Hi, how are ya?

There is a great gang here and hopefully we will inspire you to start cooking for real again.

And what a perfect time to do it, as you need to go grocery shopping today!

I have read some delicious recipes here, but I'm not that talented .... I will try, though! My ex MIL (may she rest in peace) was, to me, the best cook in the world. If I could do half as well as she did when she wasn't even trying, I'd be a proud cooker. Elleng I'm glad you like my recipe lol. I think I may do it again and add some spinach, peas and cauliflower. Not original, but my one and only store doesn't offer much in terms of fresh produce so you take what you can get.

and I'd have been perfectly happy with a broccoli-carrot-onion stir fry. although my condiments of choice would have been some of the ginger I keep shredded and in the freezer and a splash of soy sauce. In fact, I have eaten just that many times and it doesn't even have to be seasoned by hunger.

Warpy you sound like a great cook, stir-fry is something I've never done much of but it sounds very good with the ginger.

Left to my own devices, I am a(n) horrid cook.

But, give me a recipe and I can fly!!!!

My sister, god bless/dang her, can fix up a dish... saying it needs a bit of this and a dash of that.... ARRGGHHH.... my brain and taste buds don't work that way. I can't even beGIN to imagine what a splash of ANYthing will add to a dish.

But, give me a decent recipe, and I can dazzle the best of them!!
