a ? for those who make bone broth

I'll be making chicken bone broth this wkend. I have some bones from chicken soup I made earlier this week, so my ? is should I roast those bones before I put them in the crockpot with the chicken parts and a small hit of cider vinegar. Thanks

It wouldn't hurt. Most of the good stuff went into the chicken soup Warpy Mar 2017 #1

Roasting the bones for flavor and cracking them open to expose the marrow will be about all they'll contribute.

or just cause it is great?

For my health to decrease inflammation I use the whole chicken with the bones uncooked. I have to cut the chicken to break up the bones. It was specified to me that it be that way plus the addition of chicken feet. I believe it is because you want all the goodies in the bones in the broth itself and not bones that have already had much of that removed.

I was a vegetarian until I got so sick.
