Appetizer: chardonnay and goat cheese drizzled with agave and sprinkled with black pepper.
Broccoli-cheese soup (copycat Panero recipe--made before, so good).
Entree: Turkey salad with cherries and toasted almonds. I made this for last night, but collapsed from sheer exhaustion before I could even eat it. Thus, it will not be like having leftovers.

(14,733 posts)Might bust open that last jar of cherry conserves I made last year to use as a glaze. The toasted almonds sound good, but we generally wind up going with pecans or maybe walnuts instead. That copycat notion reminds me that there was something I meant to seek out a copycat recipe for the other day, and now for the life of me I can't recall what it was. I did remember to pick up some more cornstarch and soy sauce, so I'm closer to being able to give the chinese (well, american chinese) restaurant stir fry beef another try when next I pick up some flank steak.

(2,125 posts)Pork chops with sauerkraut, baked yams with walnuts and craisins, steamed broccoli drizzled with lemon-garlic oil. It's cold out there.
The cheese appetizer sounds yummy. I don't have agave but honey would do nicely.
